Ingredients For drop sugar cookies

  • 2 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 c
    softened margarine
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable shortening
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk
  • colored sugar

How To Make drop sugar cookies

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Sift dry ingredients together.

    Cream the margarine, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract.

    Beat in dry ingredients until smooth.

    Blend in milk.

    Drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Dip the bottom of a glass in the colored sugar.

    Use the glass to press the cookie dough slightly and coat the top of the cookie with the colored sugar.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

    Store cookies in a sealed container.
