Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 c
    margarine, softened
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable shortening
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 large
    egg
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk
  • ·
    colored sugar

How to Make Drop Sugar Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Sift dry ingredients together. Cream margarine, shortening and sugar till light and fluffy; add egg and vanilla.
  2. Beat dry ingredients until smooth. Blend in milk. Drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet
  3. Dip the bottom of a glass in the colored sugar and use it to press the cookie dough slightly. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
