I developed this recipe when I was having major chocolate cravings after having my daughter, It turned out way better then I could have imagined, my husband loves them and so do I, they are the perfect cookie for any chocolate lover.

Ingredients For double chocolate cookies

1/2 cshortening

1 csugar

1egg
-
3/4 cbuttermilk

1 tspvanilla extract

1 1/2 cflour

1/2 ccocoa powder

1/2 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspsalt

1 csemi-sweet chocolate chips
- PEANUT BUTTER ICING

1 cpowdered sugar

1/2 cpeanut butter
-
1 Tbspmilk

1 pinchsalt
How To Make double chocolate cookies

1Preheat oven to 400.

2Cream shortening and surgar, add egg mix well, add buttermilk and vanilla mix well.

3Sift together dry ingredients. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingridients in about three additions until just combine, fold in chocolate chips.

4Chill dough for 1-2 hours

5Drop rounded teaspoons of dough 2" apart on a lightly greased baking sheet bake until set (almost no imprint remains when touched lightly) about 8-10 min.

6For icing wisk together powdered sugar, peanut butter, milk and salt until smooth.
