I used this when I was a preschool teacher on our dinosaur week. I got the recipe off of Mrs. Bee's Busy Classroom.

  • 1/4 c
    dirt (cocoa)
  • 1/2 c
    swamp water (milk with a little green food coloring)
  • 2 c
    crushed bones ( sugar)
  • 1/2 c
    fat (butter or margarine)
  • 2 c
    dead grass (uncooked oatmeal)
  • 1/2 c
    squashed bugs (peanut butter)

How to Make Dinosaur Chow


  1. Mix dirt and swamp water. Add crushed bones and fat. Boil about 3 minutes.
  2. Add squashed bugs and dead grass, and stir until melted.
  3. Remove from heat and stir until mix begins to thicken.
  4. Drop by Tbs. onto waxed paper. Cool, eat and Enjoy!!! Kids will LOVE these.
