I love traditional shortbreads for tea time. Dark chocolate and butterscotch, who can resist! I made these as pteradactyls, because we have 5 boys, and one on the way! And all boys love dinosaurs; mom and dad too!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter, diced
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips, finely chopped

How To Make dark chocolate butterscotch shortbread cookies

  • Step 1
    Cream butter and powdered sugar.
  • Step 2
    Add in dry ingredients. Continue to beat until moist, sandy mixture.
  • Step 3
    With hands, knead into dough form.
  • Step 4
    Add finely chopped chips and knead together.
  • Step 5
    Cover and refrigerate for an hour.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 325 for about 10 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Let sit for 2 minutes before moving to cooling rack.
