I love traditional shortbreads for tea time. Dark chocolate and butterscotch, who can resist!

I made these as pteradactyls, because we have 5 boys, and one on the way! And all boys love dinosaurs; mom and dad too!

Ingredients

1 stick
butter, diced
1/2 c
powdered sugar
1 Tbsp
vanilla
1 3/4 c
flour
1/2 c
corn starch
1/4 tsp
kosher salt
1/2 c
butterscotch chips, finely chopped
1/2 c
dark chocolate chips, finely chopped

How to Make Dark Chocolate Butterscotch Shortbread Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream butter and powdered sugar.
  • 2Add in dry ingredients. Continue to beat until moist, sandy mixture.
  • 3With hands, knead into dough form.
  • 4Add finely chopped chips and knead together.
  • 5Cover and refrigerate for an hour.
  • 6Bake at 325 for about 10 minutes.
  • 7Let sit for 2 minutes before moving to cooling rack.
