cute pig cookies

I found this recipe years ago in one of my cookbooks and fell in love with it! So on March 1, National Pig Day, I make up a batch of these cute little pig faces!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • FROSTING/DECORATING
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 3-4 dashes red food coloring drops
  • - pink sugar wafer cookies
  • 36 - large marshmallows, halved
  • 1 bottle nestle crunch marble mix'ins ice cream topper

How To Make cute pig cookies

  • Step 1
    In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Mix well.
  • Step 2
    Combine dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well.
  • Step 3
    Drop by tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake @ 375 for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on wire racks.
  • Step 4
    While cookies cool make your frosting. Add sugar, vanilla, milk and food coloring. Mix until smooth. Frost cookies.
  • Step 5
    Cut sugar wafers into triangles;place two on each cookie for ears. Place two pieces of Nestle chocolate pieces in the sticky part of cut marshmallow for nostrils. Place marshmallow on cookie for nose. Add two Nestle chocolate pieces to cookie for eyes.
