this recipe came from my grandma these are soft molasses cookies.

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 teaspoon salt
1 - egg
2 teaspoons baking soda, in 1 cup hot water
1 cup melted shortening
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
4 cups flour
ICING
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1-2 tablespoon milk

How To Make cry babies

Step 1

mix ingredients in order given,mix well.Drop by Tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets.Bake at 375* for 12-15 min

Step 2

mix confectioner' sugar and enough milk to reach desired consistancy.Ice cookies while still warm
