    white sugar
  • 1 c
    margarine, softtened
  • 1/4 c
  • 1
    egg yolk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 12 oz
    chocolate chips
  • 1 c
  • 1 c
  • 1/3 c
    peanut butter
  • 2 c

How to Make Crunchy Surprise Bars


  1. Mix sugar, butter, molasses, egg and vanilla.
  2. Stir in flour and 1 cup chocolate chips.
  3. Press dough in ungreased rectangular pan 13x9 and bake 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees
  4. Mix remaining chocolate chips, raisins, peanuts and peanut butter in saucepan. Heat over medium-lo, stirring constantly, til chocolate chips are melted.
  5. Spread over crust in pan.
  6. Cut while warm, then refrigerate at least 2 hours.
