Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar (plus extra for rolling cookies)
- 3/4 cup margarine, softened
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 - egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
How To Make crispy chewy gingersnaps

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheets.

Step 2In a large bowl, combine sugar, margarine, molasses and egg and blend well.

Step 3Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off. Combine with remaining ingredients and mix well. Chill dough so it will be easier to handle.

Step 4Roll dough into 1-inch balls and then roll in sugar. Cookies should be placed 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake 9-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
