cranberry raisin oatmeal spice cookies

These cookies are buttery, crispy, chewy and melt in your mouth! This cookie is one of my family's favorites. Even people who are not crazy about oatmeal cookies (who could that be anyway?!) will love these. Be prepared to hand out the recipe! They smell so good while baking and taste even better. :-)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups butter (softened)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves (ground)
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice (ground)
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 cups oatmeal (uncooked, old fashioned)
  • 1/2 cup cranberries, dried
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional
  • 1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped (optional)

How To Make cranberry raisin oatmeal spice cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat together butter, vanilla, brown sugar and sugar. Add egg and mix.
  • Step 2
    Combine dry ingredients and add to wet mixture. Add cranberries, raisins and walnuts (if desired). Mix well throughout dough.
  • Step 3
    Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
