Ingredients

  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    white sugar
  • 1/2 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    grated orange zest (i always zest and dry when i get oranges)
  • 2 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 2 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 c
    chopped cranberries
  • 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts
  • ICING

  • 1/2 tsp
    grated orange zest
  • 3 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 1 1/2 c
    confectioners' sugar

How to Make Cranberry Orange Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg until well blended. Mix in 1 teaspoon orange zest and 2 tablespoons orange juice.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the orange mixture. Mix in cranberries and walnuts, until evenly distributed.
  4. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for about 11-13 minutes until the edges are golden. Remove from cookie sheets and cool on wire racks.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 teaspoon orange zest, 3 tablespoons orange juice and confectioners sugar until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
