Ingredients
- 1 cup corn starch, sifted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 cup granulated sugar, sifted
- 1 1/2 sticks room temperature butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make corn starch butter cookies
-
Step 1Line 3 large baking sheets with durable parchment paper, then set them aside.
-
Step 2In a large bowl, add the sifted corn starch, flour, and granulated sugar.
-
Step 3In the same bowl, add the butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Using an electric hand mixer with paddle attachments, mix on low speed, then gradually increase the speed until ingredients are well combined.
-
Step 4Now use a small cookie scoop to scoop up the dough and place it on the baking sheet. Be sure to space the cookie dough at least 1-1/2-inches about.
-
Step 5Then, using a fork, lightly press onto each ball of dough to display a crisscross pattern.
-
Step 6Place the baking sheet in the oven for 10 minutes. Cookies will be done when they appear to be light golden around the edges.
-
Step 7Transfer baked cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. The already-baked cookies were about 2-inch in diameter. If desired, before baking the cookies, you can sprinkle the tops of the cookie dough with colored sugar. Or, after baking and completely cooled, frost and decorate cookies with your colored sugar or decorative holiday sprinkles.
