This recipe came from Big Birds Busy Book, from back in the 70's. A basic, somewhat soft sugar cookie - a good first cookie for small children. This was the first home baked cookie for each of my 3 kids. Only thing - not quite right for rolling/shaping/ decorating, just not firm enough. The cookies are super yummy though!! :o)

1 cup sugar
2 - eggs, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking flour
1 teaspoon salt

How To Make cookie monster’s famous cookie dough

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400º. Mix butter & sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Shape into balls, roll in sugar & bake 6-8 minutes.
