Delicious chocolate cookie filled with a Chocolate Chip cookie!

Ingredients

  • FOR CHOCOLATE COOKIE DOUGH
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups cocoa, unsweetened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temp
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • FOR CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temp
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

How To Make cookie filled chocolate cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare baking sheets with parchment paper
  • Step 2
    To make the chocolate cookie dough: In a small bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt together. Set aside.
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar and sugar until thoroughly combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add the flour mixture and beat until combined.
  • Step 4
    To make the Chocolate chip cookie dough: In a small bowl, whisk together, flour, baking soda and salt together. Set aside.
  • Step 5
    In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugars together until combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture and beat until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Step 6
    Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, scoop out 1 tablespoon of the chocolate cookie dough and flatten to a disc shape.
  • Step 7
    Scoop just a tad less than a tablespoon of the chocolate chip cookie dough and roll into a ball. Place it on top of the chocolate dough.
  • Step 8
    Wrap chocolate dough around the chocolate chip cookie dough, making sure that the ball is completely covering in the chocolate dough.
  • Step 9
    Place cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  • Step 10
    Bake for 18-20 minutes until the edges are starting to harden and the centers are puffy, Leave on baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to wire cooling rack. Allow cookies to completely cool before serving!
  • Step 11
    The chocolate dough will be easier to work with if keep the dough chilled. Use Peanut Butter cookie dough instead of chocolate chip for a peanut-butter cup like cookie.
