Another Million dollar bar cookie. Chocolate and coconut, what more can you ask for. These taste fantastic.
If you love Coconut bon bons of years past, your gonna love these.

I cheated This recipe is with a pkg mix.
Note: Prep time does not count chill time in refer.

Ingredients

COOKIE CRUST

1
pkg betty crocker double chocolate chunk cookie mix
1/4 C
veg. oil
2 TBS
water

COOKIE FILLING

1/2 C
butter (1 stick) softened
1 can(s)
(14oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 Tsp
vanilla extract or maple extract
6 C
pdr sgr
1 1/2 C
coconut
1/2 C
finely chopped pecans, or walnuts or almonds

TOPPING

1/2 C
whipping cream
1
bag 12oz, choc chips (2 cups)
1/2 C
butter, (not margarine)

How to Make "Coconut Bars"

Step-by-Step

  • 1Heat oven @ 350
    Mix in large bowl all cookie crust ingredients, to form soft ball.
    Press into bottom of ungreased 9X13 pan.
    Bake 12 min. COOL COMPLETELY.
  • 2Meanwhile, in med bowl, Beat softened butter, milk,& Flavoring with electric mixer, on med speed til smooth.
    Gradually add Pdr sugar, blend till smooth.
    Stir in coconut, & nuts till well blended.
    Spread evenly over the cooled Cookie Crust.
    Cover and Chill 1 Hr or till filling is set.
  • 3In a Non-Stick pan, Heat topping Ingredients, over Med-low Heat.Stir constantly, till melted and smooth.
  • 4Pour topping over chilled coconut filling. Spread to cover well.
    Chill in refer 2 hrs, or till set.
  • 5Before cutting into bars, let stand 10 min at room temp. cut 9 rows by 4 bars.
    Store covered in refer.
