Today's chilly weather called for cocoa and something baking in the oven. These cookies are a perfect marriage, both rich and decadent.

They are delicious with tea, and the kids love them in milk!

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 large
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/3 c
    baking cocoa
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 3/4 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 c
    dark chocolate baking chips

How to Make Cocoa Chocolate Chip Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream butter and sugars in large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add cocoa and milk.
  3. Combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Add to cocoa mixture to combine. Fold in dark chocolate chips.
  4. Roll dough into tablespoon sized balls and slightly flatten on ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks.
