I took these to a get together with friends a while back and I came home with a clean plate. They are very much like ginger snaps just with cinnamon.

  • 3/4 c
  • 1 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1
  • 1/4 c
  • 2-1/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
  • ·
    additional sugar

How to Make Cinnamon Snaps


  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar till light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and molasses. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Roll into 1 inch balls, then roll in additional sugar.
  2. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350* for 10-12 minutes or till cookies are set and tops are cracked. Remove to wire racks to cool.
