This is from my Betty Crockers Cooky Book. These were called one of the best Cooky of 1800-1900.

I love this book it also contains historical facts.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    shotening (part butter or margrine)
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 3/4 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon

How to Make Cinnamon Jumbles

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix shortening 1cup of sugar and egg thoroughly. Stir in buttermilk and vanilla. Blend in flour, soda, and salt. Chill dough at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Drop rounded teaspoons on lightly greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Bake 8-10 minutes. or until set but not brown.
