Ingredients

1 3/4 c
all purpose flour
1/2 c
sugar
1 1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp
each of salt and ground nutmeg
1/2 c
butter equals 1 stick of butter
3
egg whites, divided
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 tsp
water

SUGAR GLAZE

1 1/2 c
powder sugar
2 Tbsp
milk
1 tsp
vanilla extract

How to Make CINNAMON FLATS

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg in medium bowl. Cut in butter until mixture forms coarse crumbs. Beat in 2 or the egg whites and vanilla mix with hands to form soft dough.
  • 2Divide dough into 6 equal pieces place on greashed 15by10 jelly roll pan. Press dough evenly to edges of pan using hands,
  • 3smooth top of dough. Mix remaining egg white and water in small cup. brush over dough. Lightly score dough into 2x2 inch square.
  • 4Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned and firm when lightly touched. While still warm, cut where you scored earlier. let cool a little and drizzle with sugar glaze. Let stand 15 minutes more before removing from pan.
  • 5FOR GLAZE:
    combine all ingredents from above for glaze and if too thick add more milk.
