brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 c
granulated sugar
1 tsp
1.75 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt, optional
2 c
oats, quick or old-fashioned, uncooked
2 c
cereal, any flavor
whole blanched almonds

How to Make Christmas Treasure Nuggets


  • 1Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2Beat butter and sugars in large bowl until fluffy.
  • 3Blend in eggs and vanilla.
  • 4Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add to butter mixture and mix well.
  • 5Stir in oats and cereal.
  • 6Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2" apart, onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 7Press 1 almond onto each cookie.
  • 8Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 9Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
  • 10Cool completely and store tightly covered. (Makes 6 dozen cookies.)
