Found this recipe a few years back. They store great. And look pretty on a cookie plate.

Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup cooking oil
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 1/2 cups flour
- - different colors of decorating sugar

How To Make christmas sugar cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2Cream together the granulated sugar, powdered sugar, butter, oil, and vanilla. Beat in eggs.

Step 3Combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Gradually add to the sugar butter mixture. Refrigerate for about one hour to make dough easier to handle.

Step 4Roll into small balls and roll in decorators sugar. Place balls on baking sheet. Find a vase or glass with decorative bottom and flatten each cookie ball down.

Step 5This should leave an imprint on the cookie. Bake in 375 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until edges begin to brown.

Step 6Cool on baking sheet briefly then transfer to wire rack.
