christmas cookies in a jar gift

These "gifts in a jar" recipes are always well received! So easy to finish with minimal ingredients, and you'll have homemade cookies in a flash! This is my own concoction that I like to put together, but you can change up the extra ingredients (to equal the same amounts) as you like and design to the person and family you are giving to. Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups - quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup - sugar
  • 1/2 cup - firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup - vanilla or white chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup - shelled pistachios, natural green, whole or coarse chopped
  • 1/4 cup - sweetened flaked coconut
  • 3/4 cup - craisins
  • 1 1/3 cups - flour
  • 1 tsp. - baking powder
  • 1 tsp. - baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. - salt

How To Make christmas cookies in a jar gift

  • Step 1
    Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart wide- mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient. *Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a small bowl first, then add on top. Recipe for Cowboy Cookies (to be attached with the mix): Empty jar of cookie mix into a large mixing bowl. Blend mix together. Add: 1 stick butter melted, 1 large egg, slightly beaten, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Mix until completely blended. Shape into balls the size of walnuts; place 2 inches apart on sprayed baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 11-13 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to racks to finish cooling. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
