chocolate wedding cakes
This is even better than the usual wedding cake cookie recipe. I got this recipe back in the 1970's and have tinkered with it to make it perfect for my liking. It has been a favorite ever since.

Ingredients
- MIX TOGETHER AND SET ASIDE:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa, unsweetened
- COOKIES:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened (no substitute)
- 3/4 cup cake flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa, unsweetened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Step 1Mix together 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 2 T cocoa and set aside. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add flour and next 3 ingredients, beating until blended. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. (Dough will be stiff.) Shape into 1-inch balls, and place on ungreased baking sheets.

Step 2Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove cookies to wire racks, and cool slightly. Roll warm cookies in the powdered sugar-cocoa mixture you set aside earlier, and cool completely on wire racks.
