1 c
butter, room temperature
3/4 c
powdered sugar
1 tsp
vanilla extract
3 oz
semisweet chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
2 c
all purpose flour

How to Make Chocolate Shortbread


  • 1Preheat oven to 300 F. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan
  • 2Beat together butter and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in vanilla and melted chocolate
  • 3Stir in flour, gently mixing until blended
  • 4Spread in prepared baking pan
  • 5Bake for 40 - 45 minutes until the center is firm
  • 6Cool in pan
  • 7These are kind of rich, so I cut them into small bars, about 1 1/2 inches by 2 inches, so this recipe makes about 3 dozen bars.
  • 8Remove carefully with spatula
