Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 cups all purpose flour
How To Make chocolate shortbread

Step 1Preheat oven to 300 F. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan

Step 2Beat together butter and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in vanilla and melted chocolate

Step 3Stir in flour, gently mixing until blended

Step 4Spread in prepared baking pan

Step 5Bake for 40 - 45 minutes until the center is firm

Step 6Cool in pan

Step 7These are kind of rich, so I cut them into small bars, about 1 1/2 inches by 2 inches, so this recipe makes about 3 dozen bars.
