Ingredients

  • - 1 cup flour
  • - 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • - 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • - 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • - 1/8 tsp. salt
  • - 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • - 1/2 cup sugar
  • - 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • - 1/2 tbsp. finely grated orange zest
  • - 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

How To Make chocolate pumpkin cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375. Set out two baking sheets. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in large bowl. Use a pastry blender to cut in butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in the sugar, pumpkin and orange zest. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop teaspoons of the dough 2 inches apart on the baking sheets. Bake until golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on the baking sheets until the cookies firm slightly, about 5 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 22 The Golden Book of Chocolate
