Ingredients

  • 1.25 c
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 c
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • TOPPING INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 c
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 oz
    semisweet chocolate square
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1.25 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • ·
    confectioners' sugar

How to Make Chocolate Pecan Bars

Step-by-Step

  1. In large mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Mix in the pecans.
  3. Press mix into a buttered 13x9" pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degree for 10 minutes until golden.
  5. Meanwhile, in small saucepan, combine butter and chocolate.
  6. Stir over low heat until the chocolate is melted.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Add the eggs, brown sugar and vanilla.
  9. Mix until blended.
  10. Pour over crust and return to oven.
  11. Bake 20 minutes longer until top is set.
  12. Cool and dust with powdered sugar.
  13. Cut into bars.
