My daughter's favorite cookie that from scratch took too long to make. I made a knock off version of the original that is passable and uses cake mix!! Enjoy.

  • 1 box
    devil's food cake mix--i use duncan hines.
  • 1 stick
    unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1
    large egg at room temperature
  • 1/4 c
    peanut butter ( creamy works best)
  • 1 pinch
  • 1-2 Tbsp
  • 1 pkg
    peanut butter chips
  • 1/4 c
    sugar ( for decorating... i use colored sugar for holidays)
  • 1
    tablespoon ( for scooping out cookie dough)

How to Make Chocolate peanut butter chip cookies


  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and peanut butter. Add cake mix, eggs, and salt. Add milk one tbsp at a time. Fold in peanut butter chips. Mix will be fudge-like. Use tablespoon to spoon out dough. Use hands to roll into a ball.Roll balls in sugar. Place onto un-greased cookies sheet. Use glass to press down balls into flatter shapes. Bake for 11-14 minutes until cookies start to crack. Remove from oven and allow to cool on the cookie sheet for 10 minutes. Enjoy!
