Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/3 cups butter, melted
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi sweet dark chocolate chips

How To Make chocolate oat cookies

  • Step 1
    preheat the oven to 350°. Set out two baking sheets. Stir together the oats, both sugars, flour and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the center and stir in the butter, egg, and vanilla. Stir in the chocolate chips, mixing until well mixed.
  • Step 2
    Drop teaspoons of the dough 3 inches apart onto the baking sheets. Bake until lightly browned, 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheets until the cookies firm slightly, about five minutes. Transfer to wire racks and let cool completely. Makes about 30 cookies
