This is chocolate biscotti that has cocoa powder, dark chocolate pieces, and even coffee. So good with piping hot coffee or tea.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 1 lemon, zested
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 6 ounces dark chocolate, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

How To Make chocolate nut biscotti

  • Step 1
    In a medium bowl, add the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    In a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, cream the sugar and butter together.
  • Step 3
    Add the eggs and egg white one at a time.
  • Step 4
    Blend in the corn syrup, coffee, vanilla, and almond extract. Gently add the dry ingredients.
  • Step 5
    Stir in the chocolate and walnuts.
  • Step 6
    Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it into a log about 10 inches long.
  • Step 7
    Transfer to a lined baking sheet and place in a preheated 350 degree oven. Bake about 35 minutes.

    Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Step 9
    Slice the log into 1-inch pieces.
  • Step 10
    Arrange them on the baking sheet and lower the temp of the oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Step 11
    Place the biscotti back in the oven for about 20 more minutes.
