Chocolate Macadamia Nutella Cookies

Barbara Anderson

Ready to over-indulge? Chocolate lovers will swoon over these scrumptious cookies. They have a slightly gooey center and the addition of Nutella takes the chocolate flavor to new heights! If you are not a macadamia nut fan, I suppose you could use pecans or even walnuts...but I don't suggest it. I will be making these for this year's Christmas cookie exchange and for gifts. I expect to be inundated with requests for the recipe. :-)

3/4 c
unsalted butter, room temperature
3/4 c
brown sugar
3/4 c
white sugar
1 c
1 tsp
vanilla extract
2 c
+ 2 tbls flour
1/4 c
unsweetened cocoa
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp

1Preheat oven 350F. Cream butter for a few minutes until light and fluffy. Add sugars and Nutella and mix well, scraping down sides of bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating for 30 seconds between each. Add vanilla and mix well.
2Sift together flour, cocoa, salt, and baking soda, to get rid of clumps. Add to butter mixture on low speed a few tablespoons at a time, until fully incorporated, scraping down bottom and sides of bowl. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts; refrigerate dough for ten minutes.
3Spoon tablespoon-sized drops of dough onto parchment paper lined cookie sheets. Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes, until center is set. Allow to cool for five minutes before putting on wire rack to cool.
