This is one our family favorites. It seems to be a local recipe and there are a lot of variations of this cookie. Some of them are quite soft but my recipe is a crisper version.

Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 cup dark molasses
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 - eggs
- 1 tablespoon grounds cloves
- 1 cup shortening (like crisco)
- 1/2 cup coffee (liquid)
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 dash salt
- 6 cups flour
How To Make chocolate jumbos

Step 1Mix ingredients together. Roll batter about 1/2 inch thick, and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes. Cool and frost with favorite icing or: 2 1/2 cup 10x 2 egg whites 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 1/4 tsp. vanilla Beat last 4 till foamy and add sugar until firm peaks form.
