chocolate hazelnut cookies

Not sure where this recipe came from but I have been making them for years, they are my husbands favorite! *Side note- You can subsititue walnuts for the hazelnuts, they are still yummy!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 13 ounces jar chocolate hazelnut spread (nuttela)
  • 1 ounce chocolate, unsweetened, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped, hazelnuts ( if raw, roast & skin)

How To Make chocolate hazelnut cookies

  • Step 1
    In large mixing bowl, beat butter & sugars until combined.
  • Step 2
    Add chocolate hazelnut spread, melted chocolate and vanilla. Beat until combined.
  • Step 3
    Add eggs, one at time, mixing well after each.
  • Step 4
    Combine flour, cinnamon, soda, powder & salt
  • Step 5
    Beat as much of the flour mixture into creamed mixture with mixer as you can. Stir in any remaining flour.
  • Step 6
    Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Step 7
    Drop by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Step 8
    Bake in a 350' degree oven for about 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are just set.
  • Step 9
    Let cool on cookie sheets for 2 minutes and than transfer to wire rack.
