  • 1
    cream cheese, 8 oz.
  • 1 stick
    butter, at room temp
  • 1
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 box
    moist chocolate cake mix, 18 oz.
  • ·
    confectioner's sugar for dusting

How to Make Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies


  1. Preheat oven for 350.
  2. In large bowl with electric mixer, cream the cream cheese & butter until smooth.
  3. Then beat in vanilla.
  4. Beat in cake mix.
  5. Cover & refrigerate for 2 hours to firm up, so that you can roll batter into balls.
  6. Roll batter into Tablespoon sized balls. & then roll in confectioner's sugar.
  7. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 12 minutes. The cookie will be soft & gooey.
  8. Cool completely & sprinkle with more confectioner's sugar if desired.
