My husband gives these his seal of approval! Nice orange flavor to these cookies; they'd be good even without the chocolate. Ok... who am I kidding? EVERYTHING is better with chocolate, right? :)

Blue Ribbon Recipe

These butter cookies just melt in your mouth. Orange zest gives the cookies a refreshing orange flavor. Dipping them in chocolate makes them even better. Pack in a cellophane bag and you have a lovely party favor or hostess gift. Test Kitchen Avatar The Test Kitchen

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 375. In large bowl, combine sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg; blend well.
  2. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and orange zest.
  3. Roll dough into 1" balls and place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
