chocolate chip peppermint cookies

Chocolate chip cookies, my favorite! But one day I wanted to make them more festive for the holidays. So I came up with this recipe. Merry Christmas! Ho Ho Ho! (Gobble them up anytime, though!)

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter (kerrygold is best), softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 large eggs, preferable room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2-3/4 cup walnuts, english, or almonds, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2-3/4 cup pecans, toasted preferably
  • 5 ounces andes peppermint crunch chips, or to taste

How To Make chocolate chip peppermint cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Have cookie sheets ready, ungreased.
  • Step 2
    In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt. In mixer bowl, combine butter, sugars, vanilla and water. Beat with mixer until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well till well mixed. Gradually add in the flour mixture till well blended. Next blend in the milk chocolate chips, nuts and peppermint chips.
  • Step 3
    Drop by rounded tablespoon onto awaiting baking sheets. Bake 9 to 11 minutes until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before removing. Serve with cold glass of milk and smiles.
