chocolate chip peppermint cookies
Chocolate chip cookies, my favorite! But one day I wanted to make them more festive for the holidays. So I came up with this recipe. Merry Christmas! Ho Ho Ho! (Gobble them up anytime, though!)

Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter (kerrygold is best), softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 large eggs, preferable room temperature
- 1 teaspoon water
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 1/2-3/4 cup walnuts, english, or almonds, coarsely chopped
- 1/2-3/4 cup pecans, toasted preferably
- 5 ounces andes peppermint crunch chips, or to taste

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Have cookie sheets ready, ungreased.

Step 2In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt. In mixer bowl, combine butter, sugars, vanilla and water. Beat with mixer until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well till well mixed. Gradually add in the flour mixture till well blended. Next blend in the milk chocolate chips, nuts and peppermint chips.

Step 3Drop by rounded tablespoon onto awaiting baking sheets. Bake 9 to 11 minutes until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before removing. Serve with cold glass of milk and smiles.
