chocolate chip cookies or basic cookie batter
(1 RATING)
I've tried to "formulate" a basic batter for cookies that could suit most chip cookies like chocolate chip or butterscotch or white chocolate chip. This one is a basic recipe for me and I hope you can use it for your cookies too.

Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup butter, unsalted ( don't use margarine it tends to make the batter runny)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups chips (chocolate, butterscotch or your choice)
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
How To Make chocolate chip cookies or basic cookie batter
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 375* If you do not have an oven thermometer watch cookies closely when using real butter, so that the bottom doesn't burn.
-
Step 2Cream butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy, add eggs until thoroughly mixed.
-
Step 3Add salt and soda to the butter mixture, slowly add flour. Yes I know this seems unconventional, but I've found that it does seem to work better. Then add your chips and nuts by hand. Use a teaspoon to drop to the cookie sheet. I use parchment paper to prevent burning as much as possible. Enjoy!
