Chocolate Chip Cookies

Renee W.

I know everyone has their own chocolate chip recipe they love so I thought I'd add my own. This was in my family's cookbook from the mid-1970's.

I use either butter flavored or plain shortening, whatever I have in the house.

Also, on frequent occasions, I add a bag of toffee chips just to change the taste up a bit.

Always a big hit when I take them to work!

How to Make Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Combine flour, salt and baking soda in medium bowl. Set aside.
  2. Cream butter and shortening until smooth. Add sugar and brown sugar, mix at medium speed until well blended; add eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually add dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips.

Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes.

I use a medium sized Pampered Chef scoop, which makes about 4 dozen cookies.
