chocolate chip bars

My mom always made these bars when we had family get togethers and everyone loved them. I started making these for my children when they were very young and they would eat the whole pan within a day. These bars are a good substitute for chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons milk
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups oats, quick cooking
- 1 package chocolate chips
How To Make chocolate chip bars

Step 1In mixing bowl combine butter and sugars and beat until fluffy. Add milk and vanilla, beat till blended in. Add eggs one at a time till well blended.

Step 2Add baking powder, baking soda and flour, mix until well blended. Add oatmeal mix in with a wooden spoon once mixed add chocolate chips and mix in.

Step 3Grease a 16x11 cookie sheet; spoon mix onto sheet and spead out. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes or until brown; I check them after 15 minutes.

Step 4If you have a bigger cookie sheet I make 1 and half batches.
