sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
cream of tartar
1/4 tsp
1/2 c
butter, softened
1/2 c
vegetable shortening
1/2 c
brown sugar, lightly packed
1/2 c
granulated sugar
1 tsp
3/4 c
6 oz
package semisweet chocolate chips
granulated sugar (for rolling)

How to Make Chocolate Chip Angel Cookies


  • 1Preheat oven to 350* and lightly grease cookie sheets.
  • 2Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt in small bowl.
  • 3Beat butter, shortening, and sugars in large bowl until blended. Add egg; beat well; add vanilla.

    Add flour mixture; blend well.
  • 4Stir in walnuts and chocolate pieces.

    Roll dough into walnut-size balls; roll in granulated sugar.

    Place about 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
  • 5Bake in preheated 350* oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until firm to touch. Cool on wire racks.
