Ingredients
- 1 cup roasted chestnuts( can be found in a jar at the grocery store) or 1 cup of hazelnuts
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons dark rum
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1/4 teaspoon clove, ground
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 2 packages ready made pie crusts
- 1 large egg beaten
- 1 - confectioners' sugar
How To Make chocolate chestnut or hazelnut cresent cookies

Step 1Using your food proscessor blend together the nuts,sugar,rum,coco,and spices until it is just smooth,then pulse in the chocolate chips.Scrape down any big pieces into the mix and pulse until incorporated. Line your cookie sheet pan with parchment paper. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.

Step 2Using a three inch round cookie cutter or a glass,cut the room temperature pie crusts into 30 rounds. Brush each round with the egg,and then fill each with one teaspoon of the filling. Fold over to make a crescent and pinch them closed with your fingers or use the tines of a fork if you wish.

Step 3Arrange the cookies two inches apart and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 20 minutes,dust with confectioners sugar and enjoy!!! :)
