Chocolate Cherry Drops
1 cpacked brown sugar
1/2 cbutter, softened
1/2 csour cream
31 oz ea. squares unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
1 tsppure vanilla extract
2 call purpose flour
1/2 tspbaking soda
1/2 cchopped maraschino cherries, drained (reserve 3 tbsp juice)
1 cpowdered sugar
11 oz square unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
2 Tbspsour cream
24maraschino cherries, cut in half (48 halves)
How to Make Chocolate Cherry Drops
- Heat oven to 375 degrees
Lightly grease cookie sheet
- In large mixing bowl combine brown sugar, 1/2 c butter, 1/2 c sour cream, 3 squares melted chocolate, the egg and vanilla.
Beat at medium speed until well blended.
Add flour, baking soda and salt.
Beat at low speed until soft dough forms.
Stir in the chopped cherries.
- Drop dough by heaping teaspoons 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until set.
- In medium mixing bowl combine powdered sugar, melted chocolate, sour cream and butter.
Beat on low speed until smooth.
Spread frosting evenly on cookies.
Garnish with a cherry half in the middle of the cookie frosting.
Let dry completely before storing.
