This is yet another of the cookies I used to make at Christmas for gifting. These are good, though unexpected, as they are not your average "Christmas" cookie, but who doesn't love chocolate?! I have come to love chocolate and orange. I think next time I make these, I'm going to try orange extract instead of almond. YUM! Be creative, use your favorite extract too! Enjoy!

Ingredients For chocolate butter cookies

  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 1
    egg yolk
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    unsweetened cocoa

How To Make chocolate butter cookies

  • 1
    Combine first 4 ingredients. Beat until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes). Add flour and cocoa. Bake for 7-9 minutes at 375 degrees.
