Ingredients

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    shortening or butter
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    cocoa powder
  • 1 can(s)
    banana,mashed (3 med.)
  • 1 c
    rasins
  • 1 1/2 cu can(s)
    chopped walnuts
  • VANILLA FROSTING

  • 3 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1/3 c
    buttter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2/ 3 Tbsp
    milk

How to Make Choco-Banana Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cream together the sugar and shortening. Beat in the egg and almond and vanilla extracts. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and cocoa.
  3. Gradually add to the creamed mixture alternating with the banana. Stir in the raisins and nuts.
  4. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes, depending on size. Let cool before frosting.
  5. FOR THE FROSTING: Mix together the powered sugar, butter, vanilla and milk. Add more milk if necessary to make the frosting a nice spreading consistency.
