I was given this recipe by my neighbor next door. The recipe was one of her all time favorites. She passed away last year at the age of 94. When I make these I think of her and our talks at my kitchen table.

Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make chinese chews

Step 1Mix all ingredients and combine well. Spread in a 13x 9 inch pan. Bake at 325F for 25-30 minutes. When slightly cool and easy to handle, roll into balls and then roll in sugar. Store in air tight container.
