cherry vanilla bars
You could use whatever dried fruit you prefer: Blueberries, cranberries, a mix... Got the idea from my Land O'Lakes baking book. Followed the original recipe quite closely.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup dried cherries, coursely chopped
- 1/2 cup white baking chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- DRIZZLE
- 1/4 cup white baking chips
- 1/2 teaspoon shortening
How To Make cherry vanilla bars

Step 1Heat oven to 350. Grease 8" square pan.

Step 2Combine sugar, butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla in large bowl. Add flour and baking powder. Beat until well mixed.

Step 3Stir in cherries, chips and pecans.

Step 4Spread evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.

Step 5Make drizzle by melting chips and shortening in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until mostly melted; then stir until smooth.

Step 6Drizzle over bars. Cool completely and cut into bars.
