Cherry Pecan Snowballs

This is another good one from my Grandma Whitehead. We really enjoyed this one at the cookie swap, and I have made them several times since. The don't last too long around my house.

  • 1/2 c
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 c
  • 1 c
    red cherries, candied, chopped
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make Cherry Pecan Snowballs


  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
  2. Cream butter and add sugar gradually.
  3. Add flour, cherries, pecans, water and vanilla, and mix thoroughly.
  4. Shape into balls and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
  6. Roll in powdered sugar.
