OH MY ! These taste like chocolate covered cherries.Eat them when the kisses are still soft and the cookie is warm and when you bite you will think your eating one. I had a hard time putting them down!

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    butter
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp
    maraschino cherries juice
  • 1/2 c
    maraschino cherries, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond extract
  • ·
    few drops red food coloring
  • 2 1/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 48
    chocolate kisses,unwrapped

How to Make Cherry Kisses cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 350. In large bowl combine butter,powdered sugar,cherry juice,almond extract and food coloring,blend well.
  2. Stir in flour and salt.Add cherries.mix well.Form dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Immediately top each cookie with kisses.Remove from cookie sheet.
