cherry drop cookie with dark chocolate drizzle

The cold weather is keeping me inside and making me become very creative. I made this one with yummy maraschino cherries and a dark chocolate ganache swirl on top. Wow, this one is really a keeper! They taste absolutely wonderful!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup chopped maraschino cherries: add the juice to make 1/2 cup total put together
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How To Make cherry drop cookie with dark chocolate drizzle

  • Step 1
    In a large mixing bowl cream your butter, and both sugars.
  • Step 2
    Add your eggs, cherries with juice. ***You can add more chopped cherries but i wouldn't add more juice. Measure out the amount of cherries, add the juice (as instructed)and put in your batter. Chop up more cherries and add them.
  • Step 3
    Gradually add your flour, salt, soda and baking powder.
  • Step 4
    Drop spoonfuls on cookie sheet and bake @350 for 12 minutes. Check on them after 10 mins, you don't want to over bake.
  • Step 5
    Make your chocolate ganache: equal parts of heavy whipping cream and dark chocolate chips. Heat your heavy cream on low until really hot, not a boil. Add your chips and whisk it smooth. Using a small spoon drizzle over your cooled cookies. Dust with powdered sugar is you like :)
