2Sift dry ingredients together, then add to butter mixture. Mix by hand.
3Take about 1 tablespoon of dough, flatten it in your hand, place a cherry in the center, wrap dough around it, roll in sugar, then place on parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake 8- 10 min in 350 oven.
4When cookies are completely cool, I like to drizzle a glaze of frosting over them. I use powdered sugar & juice from the maraschino cherries,& almond extract, but use whatever you like- be creative, or just leave plain. When the cookies come out of the oven you can immediately stick a cherry stem on the top to decorate, which is cute!
