This recipe was given to me by a friend and I think its awesome. If you love Chai Tea I think you will love these, too.

Ingredients

  • CHAI:
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 - dash cardamom
  • 3 - whole allspice
  • 1 - dash cinnamon
  • 3 - whole cloves
  • BATTER:
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 - eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

How To Make chai brownies

  • Step 1
    For Chai: Add all ingredients to a pot and bring to a quick boil. Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes. Strain into a large microwave safe bowl.
  • Step 2
    For Batter: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. To bowl of chai, add butter and chocolate. Microwave about 30 seconds until melted. Stir until smooth. Let cool for a minute so that eggs will not cook when added. Add eggs. Sift in remaining dry ingredients and mix until it forms a stiff batter. Bake in a 9 inch square pan sprayed with oil, about 25 minutes until set. Let cool, and cut into 20 pieces.
