This recipe has been handed down in my family for generations. My son loves it and so does my brother. I am not so much a fan but I do love my grandmother Catherine Batten's sugar cookies

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 12 ounces molasses
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 3/4 cup strong coffee
How To Make catherine batten's molasses cookies

Step 1Make coffee and allow to cool

Step 2cream butter and sugar

Step 3add rest of ingredients in order given

Step 4drop by tsp on greased cookie sheet. if using coated cookie sheet then no need to grease.

Step 5sprinkle with sugar

Step 6bake 12-15 minutes at 350
